Twelve months ago, I sat and sketched some rough ideas down for a possible theme table which would also be used to display (in broken down sections) the finished Warhost. I should have bought a lotto ticket that day as I stumbled upon a local by the name of Elliot who took my sketches, turned them into something very cool and manifested the full 8x6 foot table - which 12 months on, is now completed.
Chuffed? You bet I am.
For even more photos, head over to Elliot's website CustomTerrain.net and have a look at the full gallery. If you're interested in checking out how this project came to life, here is the link to the development log.

A word to the wise

Planetscape update - Eldar Terrain
Elliot from over at Custom Terrain has recently (ok i'm a little behind on this one) sent me an update on the terrain he's been working on for the Dras'Volharr Planetscape. At this rate the table isn't very far off being completed, so I guess now I have to consider a house to store the sucker in. Anyway, pretty pictures etc... Enjoy :)

Tables & Titans - Planetscape & Phantoms Nearing Completion
This week i've had both Steve and Elliot contact me with regard to current WIP projects, and given the Dras'Volharr Planetscape is oh so very close to being completed, i'm quite eager to post up the photos from Elliot's own website CustomTerrain.net
Steve has also been smashing along with the Phantom Titan progress, having just the finishing touches and some cinematic work left on the big guys. Enough from me... pretties...

Harbingers of the Void - Eldar Phantom Titans WIP
Steve has been hard at it, building up the layers on both Eldar Forgeworld Phantom Titans. While i'm still working out names for these two, and converting them into the Eldar tongue, they definitely have a menacing "reaper" quality to them. With the Hell Turkey being drawn into a charged D-Cannon bubble (with swarming missiles for good measure), and the Chaos Land Raider being sliced like bread... well, there is a whole lot of awesome happening cinematically speaking.
These images came in at the same time as Elliot's latest work on the Eldar Planetscape, of the former Dras'Volharr maiden world. There will be some collaboration in the terrain aspect, with Elliot creating the Webway gate structures and Steve painting them (plus building a giant resin airbrushed portal for the "activated" mode). There are definitely some good things coming in the next few months. In case you're wondering why the portal is so damned big, well I need to get a Phantom Titan through it somehow, no? On to the pretties!
And the latest shots of the Webway Gates;
In case you're all wondering what this is going to look like in the end, imagine something akin to the following;

Webway goodness - Dras'Volharr theme table update
Hi all, well I have to say I missed this update recently and decided it would be a good idea to throw down some images on the blog. Elliot over at customterrain.net has been busy making terrain structures for the Dras'Volharr 8x6 foot theme table. The most recent addition being Webway gates - both small and large. Why do I have a gate over two feet tall under construction? Titans... lots of Titans. Can't have the Phantoms banging their head like I do getting in and out of the car can we? Plus they just look bloody awesome.

Eldar Planetscape - Terrain Platform Update
Elliot from CustomTerrain.net has been in touch the last few days with some WIP shots of the platforms being built to complement the planetscape. This is the first of many varied platforms and Webway Gates being built. Keeping in mind this is the rough shape, with details to be added, translucent portals enabling travel without platforms, etc.
On to the juicy stuff...

Coming to life - Eldar Planetscape Update
Elliot from CustomTerrain.net has been at it getting the texturing down on the Eldar Planetscape over the last month and a bit, having finished in the early hours of the morning. All the mountains, dry riverbed, tiling etc has been done, with some of the larger terrain platforms being roughly cut out - lots of detail to go, but the shapes are underway.
The remainder of the project will take about another three months at the current rate, luckily another avid Eldar fan wants much the same terrain pieces, so Elliot can kill two birds with one stone.
*Rough cutouts of the main platforms the terrain will be built around
*The mountain range in all its glory, with two sniper nooks to be built in soon
*The small cliff leading down to the dry riverbed
*More large platform templates...
*The ruins filled in, looking more the part now they're recessed below the drifting desert sands

Planetscape progress...
Elliot from CustomTerrain.net has just updated me on the latest with the Planetscape. He has finished off most of the detailing work for the board, picked out a new colour set and completed the rune tiling - very happy indeed. So, a few happy snaps of the progress;
