A word to the wise

"Ask not the Eldar a question, for they will give you three answers, all of which are true and terrifying to know." - Inquisitor Czevak Turns out, the answers are; "Oh, just a few days", "Our friends will be here shortly" and "We have quite the appetite".

Twin Eldar Phantom Titans - Ready to Reap

What a week. There are some you wish would you could forget - thankfully Steve managed to restore my faith in things with photos of the completed Phantom Titans. Dubbed "Reapers" these guys came up a treat, making the Chaos Hell Turkey and Land Raider suffer in spectacular fashion - me likey.

I've no doubt i'll update this post a bit later when I have a moment, however I couldn't wait... here are the pretties in all their glory! Huge thanks go to Steve as always with these crazy creations :)

Harbingers of the Void - Twin Phantom Reapers

First up, Happy New Year to all :) hopefully each of you have your New Years resolutions all planed out with lots of Wargaming thrown in for good measure.

Steve has just sent an update for the two Forgeworld Phantoms, dubbed "Void Reapers" given their menacing appearance and general badarsery. With six of the nine Titans down, only the Armorcast remain, then around mid year the Super Heavy Grav Tanks will be seeking out their respective paint jobs.

The recent changes have been painting of all the gems to the blade colour to reflect a more "blazing" contrast that fits in theme with the army itself. Very much looking forward to seeing these bad boys flanking the Warlock Class Phantom Titan in the future.

Tables & Titans - Planetscape & Phantoms Nearing Completion

This week i've had both Steve and Elliot contact me with regard to current WIP projects, and given the Dras'Volharr Planetscape is oh so very close to being completed, i'm quite eager to post up the photos from Elliot's own website CustomTerrain.net

Steve has also been smashing along with the Phantom Titan progress, having just the finishing touches and some cinematic work left on the big guys. Enough from me... pretties...

Phantom Titan WIP - Shoulderpad Runes & Death Masks

New runes have been consolidated to create some new Titan glyphs for the shoulders and hip guards, albeit with a few layers of shading left to go. The ground forces contain the scorpions tail insignia and venom drip, in contrast to the airwing's more avian stylised glyphs shown on the Vampire's.

All coming together, with the Webway Gates up next upon completion, followed by the Armorcast Titans - Warlock class and twin Revenants.

 And a small glance of a downed Falcon for one of the Phantoms as a scenic piece. Still thinking about how this one will work out :)

Harbingers of the Void - Eldar Phantom Titans WIP

Steve has been hard at it, building up the layers on both Eldar Forgeworld Phantom Titans. While i'm still working out names for these two, and converting them into the Eldar tongue, they definitely have a menacing "reaper" quality to them. With the Hell Turkey being drawn into a charged D-Cannon bubble (with swarming missiles for good measure), and the Chaos Land Raider being sliced like bread... well, there is a whole lot of awesome happening cinematically speaking.

These images came in at the same time as Elliot's latest work on the Eldar Planetscape, of the former Dras'Volharr maiden world. There will be some collaboration in the terrain aspect, with Elliot creating the Webway gate structures and Steve painting them (plus building a giant resin airbrushed portal for the "activated" mode). There are definitely some good things coming in the next few months. In case you're wondering why the portal is so damned big, well I need to get a Phantom Titan through it somehow, no? On to the pretties!

And the latest shots of the Webway Gates;

In case you're all wondering what this is going to look like in the end, imagine something akin to the following;

Phantom Titan #1 - Chaos Land Raider Scenic Base

Steve spoils... and when he spoils, he does so with style. This is the latest update for the first Phantom Titan scenic base, just in case you were wondering - it's the one with the power glaive for whipping up a quick Chaos Coleslaw. This will be a quick one and I may write a little more soon about this update ;)

100th Post - First Eldar Titan Wave, Lords of War

Well, finally made it to the 100th post for this project blog! And what a way to lay down the smack ;)

Steve has just sent me a photo of the first batch of Titans all posed, ready to kick arse and take names. I'm told they've been base coated already, however the photos were sent pre-paint to show the detail and pose a little better. Yes that is a Hell Turkey having its brains blown out by a Distort Cannon (the cinematic for which is to be modeled), and the second Phantom is of course the one in the previous post making a nice cheese spread out of a Chaos Land Raider. Ahhhhhh.

Each of the Revenants are all looking spry as a nimble annoying Warmachine should - paired off as guards to each Phantom (yes there are another two of the Armorcast variety for the Warlock class Phantom Titan to come). Anyway, i'll bugger off and leave you with the pretties!

Phantom Titan #1 - How to open a can of "Chum"

Titans... so many Titans. Steve has been busy recently going batshit insane building half a dozen Forge World War Machines - four Revenants and two Phantoms to be precise. When Steve heard one of the big boys had a mean machine power blade, his comments were "F*&k yeah, let's make that rock!", so I knew right then and there something super duper would be in the works. Well he wasn't kidding - On a side note, I may have let my inner child show a little too much when I saw these for thee first time yesterday morning. A big dumb grin uttering colourful words of appreciation were indeed displayed in an unreserved fashion.

Ok, i'll shut up... here are the funky photos that got me a little happy in the pants. Yes the extra fins are missing just at the moment. Stay tuned for more in the near future.

Titans - Six of one, half a dozen of the other

If I ever win the lottery, remind me to send Steve a cut. Spent a few hours cutting excess resin chunks from six Titans (two Phantoms and four Revenants - suddenly the old Armorcast ones seem more appealing).

While there is a second batch of Titans to go (Phantom/Warlock, Revenant, Towering Knight Destroyers, etc) which will be significantly easier to build, these guys are next in line to get a fantastic paint job from Steve at Third Fate Creations.

Each Phantom has its own pair of twin Revenants, so all up three Phantoms, one being a Warlock class, and six Revenants... Pulsar, Sonic Lance variants included. Speaking of Pulsars... if you ever wondered why you can't hide from a Revenant, its because they can shoot around corners.

I'm also starting to wonder if it would be cost effective for Forge World to cut the excess resin off and re-use it. Given the stuff I cut off amounted to half the weight and reduced the bag size by almost half.

I might also add these guys are going over with a Land Raider and Predator to be appropriately demolished as scenic bases... now if only I could find a second hand Brass Scorpion.

A New Artist Emerges - The Titan Host & Thundering Skies

After 12 hours worth of discussion, idea pitching and general all round craziness, a new artist joins the fold - This time to tackle the big boys of the battlefield.

Steve, from Third Fate Creations, has been locked in and taken up the torch in a bid to bring some insane airbrushing techniques to the Warhost. So what's the list you ask? See below;

1x Armorcast Phantom Titan - To be built as a Warlock Class Battle Titan
2x Forgeworld Phantom Titans - The twin bodyguards of the ancient and revered Warlock
4x Forgeworld Revenant Titans - Two of each type, in paired formations
1x Armorcast Revenant Titan - Stumpy needs some love too (he was my first titan!)
2x Towering Destroyer Knights - To compliment the Rogue Trader Eldar (stay tuned...)

1x Vampire Hunter Super Heavy Flyer - An escort for...
2x Vampire Raider Super Heavy Flyers - The kind that make Magpies look insignificant

All up, eight titans, two knights and three super heavy flyers. No small task, sure, but one hell of a detachment when completed.

To give you an idea of the level of awesome Steve brings to the table, here are some of his amazing works of art;

* Fingers crossed Steve is ok with me posting these here! :)

Stay tuned, there's bound to be some pretty awesome WIP shots as this project gains momentum in the coming months.
